How it works

STEP 1: Purchase the test that meets your requirements

We have a range of test packages available to suit a variety of different needs and requirements. You can see a summary of what parameters are analysed within each of our test packages and read more about them here. We also have a range of additional parameters available such as Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Legionella, Organic Carbons and even problem-heavy metals such as Mercury, which are available to add on to your chosen test package for a small fee. These options can be added on at the point which you add your package to your basket.

If you need any help deciding which test to order, or you'd prefer to place a phone order for your test, then please call us on 01507 608 100 and we will be happy to help.

STEP 2: We send you your testing kit with instructions

Upon receiving your order, we will package up the required sample bottles, along with simple sample collection instructions and despatch these to you on the same day, providing your order is placed on a weekday before 2 pm. If your order is placed after 2 pm on a weekday or is placed on a weekend, then these will be despatched on the next working day.

Once you receive your testing kit, you will need to follow the instructions carefully and collect the required samples using the equipment provided. It is important that you time your sample collections carefully; the samples need to be fresh so we recommend you collecting them on the same day that you are going to send them away for testing.

You will also need to complete the 'Water Test Request' form that is included and make sure this is sent with the collected samples.

STEP 3: Send the samples using a next day service

You will then need to send the samples to the laboratory address provided using a next day delivery service such as provided by Royal Mail, Hermes and other courier companies. We have chosen to operate in this way so that as the customer, you get the flexibility of being able to collect your samples at a time that is suitable to you as well as the freedom to choose which carrier you want to use. Please note that samples must not be sent to the laboratory on a Friday, Saturday or a Sunday. This is because  they may not able to be successfully delivered to the laboratory on these days and therefore, the environment of the samples cannot be guaranteed. As a consequence, this can affect the results of your tests, meaning that you will not obtain a true reflection of your water quality.

STEP 4: A DWI certified lab analyses your samples

Once your samples reach the laboratory, they will be analysed according to a range of physical, chemical and microbiological parameters, as included within your chosen test package. The laboratory that we work with is UKAS accredited to ISO 17025 for water hygiene testing. What's more, they also have full membership with the Legionella Control Association. These credentials mean you can be confident that your samples will be handled correctly and that the testing carried out is to an exemplary standard which produces accurate, reliable results.

STEP 5: Your test results become available within 12 days

Within 12 working days (7 working days for Test 3 packages), your results will become available and you will be notified that they are now available for viewing. Your results comprise of a simple written report alongside a dated certificate of analysis. The certificate of analysis lists all the parameters that were tested, the levels that they were found at, what maximum levels are permitted and therefore, whether the parameter was graded as a pass or a fail with regards to these.

STEP 6: We can advise you on how to rectify any issues

If your test results indicate a fail against any parameters that were tested, we can offer follow on advice and support as well as a range of solutions services. Our expert engineers are happy to discuss your results and requirements one-to-one and help plan a course of remedial action. We are able to advise on and supply, treatment and filtration equipment and products, as well as connect you to other reputable companies that can assist with site surveys, installation and even borehole and well drilling. Even after water problems have been dealt with, we are always available as a point for information and guidance.
